Discussions and outcomes from the event will contribute to a report that will be made available to key government departments.
How did housing management change during the pandemic? That’s one of the big questions that this upcoming Housing Plus Academy event, “Housing management at the crossroads” will address on 19th – 20th May.
The Housing Plus Academy is a partnership between LSE Housing and Communities and the National Communities Resource Centre (NCRC), which brings people together from across the housing world to take part in knowledge exchange and participative learning, tackling pressing issues such as welfare reform, financial pressure, energy-saving, work and skills, community enterprise, and resilience.
The workshop will facilitate lively discussion between delegates around themes including:
- What are the challenges landlords are facing? How do we adapt?
- How close to the frontline should housing managers be?
- Why are repairs the bugbear of housing management?
- How can frontline housing management build trust?
After the event, the key points from discussions will be condensed into a report, shared with participants, and more widely with policymakers, government, and professional housing bodies.
The workshop will take place at Trafford Hall, the home of the NCRC, an environmentally friendly Georgian mansion house, with eco-designed Segal chalet bedrooms and a carbon-neutral training block, “The Stable”. These peaceful, distraction free surroundings help delegates fully immerse themselves in discussions.
Staff from housing associations and councils, active and involved tenants and other key stakeholders are encouraged to attend, with tickets priced at £240pp, including dinner, bed and breakfast, buffet lunch, refreshments, and the workshop.
