We have over twenty five years’ experience of delivery high quality, action-oriented training to people living and working in low income communities that fosters their ambition to do things differently.
Our unique 2 or 3 day residential model has proven advantages over conventional single- day training courses. Residential training provides opportunities to explore new ways of learning and a chance to build on learning from one day to the next. Meeting other people who experience the same struggles sparks ideas, confidence and enthusiasm. The courses are delivered informally, with no prior qualifications needed, just a willingness to take-part and to be inspired!
Each training course is individually designed and tailored to address particular topical issues facing communities and the social housing sector. Training typically falls into three categories:
- Building resilience – complaint resolution, tackling anti-social behaviour, teamwork, wellbeing, personal effectiveness and individual skills development
- Engaging your community – how to effectively consult and represent your community, engaging diverse groups, group dynamics, skills and tools to establish and manage community enterprise projects
- Involving and empowering residents – different tenant structures, working as a committee, inspiring tenant leaders, the role of tenant inspectors, board and panel defining roles and responsibilities, running effective meetings and effective tenant/landlord relations
All our training courses require a degree of funding. If you are interested in helping some of the poorest and most vulnerable in our society come together to improve their own lives and the lives of those living in their local community, we’d love to hear from you. We work with individuals, businesses and foundations.
