Situated just outside the city centre of Chester, YHA Chester Trafford Hall is a brand-new hostel with plenty of accommodation options.

YHA Chester Trafford Hall combines the grandeur of a Georgian mansion house with modern, sustainable facilities in our en-suite bedrooms and eco-friendly chalet accommodation, powered by renewable energy on-site. There are also 14 acres of organic grounds complete with nature walks and landscaped gardens to explore.

This hostel is perfectly located for exploring the many attractions of rural Cheshire or getting to know the historic walled city of Chester. If shopping's your thing, the hostel is just a short distance from designer outlet Cheshire Oaks. After a busy day of exploring, chill out with a meal in our cafe or grab a drink at our licensed bar.

LSE Housing and Communities Partner

LSE Housing and Communities are a small research group within the Centre for the Analysis of Social Exclusion (CASE) at the London School of Economics. They have many years’ experience of researching social housing conditions, community and neighbourhood issues, and urban problems.

LSE Housing and Communities partners with NCRC to run the Housing Plus Academy and Energy Plus Academy; a series of knowledge-exchange events that aim to tackle key issues relating to social housing and energy use in the built environment. LSE Housing’s input focuses on the research, policy expertise, programme development, and resource packs for events, as well as writing up headline reports from events and sharing findings to key policymakers and government. LSE Housing also coordinates the Thinking Ahead Group, a group of housing and environmental experts that contributes knowledge and on-the-ground insights, which feeds into our programme development.
